Ariana and Paulo are the ones behind Theobroma cacao.
They are passionate about food and pulled by the question: “Where does this come from?” They have learned to move away from the mass production Industry to find the beauty in small-scale products.
They asked themselves this question while having a chocolate bar produced from West African cacao, full of ingredients impossible to pronounce, being aware of the poor working and living conditions.
So in 2021, they started their chocolate journey exploring Costa Rica’s cacao.
Every chocolate bar is handmade, which is why they are unique.

The ancestral way of enjoying cocoa was in a water-based drink with no sugar but with spices such as hot chili and cinnamon, called “Xocolatl.”

Later on, the Europeans mixed it with sugar and milk to turn them into what we call chocolate.

This chocolate bar celebrates both worlds, honoring the Mesoamerican traditions and the sweetness brought to it by the Europeans.

Enjoy this aromatic chocolate from Hacienda Dos Lagunas by melting it in a cup of hot water or milk.

Ingredients: cacao beans, organic sugar, organic cinnamon, and organic habanero chili. It does not contain traces of gluten, lactose, or nuts
