Baianí Chocolates is rooted in the heritage of the Pinheiro and Aquino families, who have cultivated cacao in southern Bahia since the late 1800s. This legacy inspires their mission to craft exceptional Brazilian chocolate from tree to bar.

Juliana and Tuta Aquino, both born in Bahia, spent years abroad building careers in music—Juliana as a singer and Tuta in the New York music industry—before returning to Brazil. After earning a degree in Gastronomy, Juliana reconnected with her family’s cacao farm, Fazenda Santa Rita, and began experimenting with chocolate, quickly gaining recognition for her work.

At the same time, Tuta dedicated himself to rebuilding the farm, which had been devastated by the Vassoura de Bruxa disease. Their combined efforts and passion for cacao led them to create Baianí Chocolates, a project that blends family tradition, innovation, and sustainable farming to share the true flavor of Brazilian cacao with the world.

Passion fruit is one of Brazil’s most beloved fruits. With that in mind, they decided to bring this tropical favorite into the world of exotic flavor pairings by uniting it with their chocolate. The ideal balance was achieved with our 65% cacao, made from their single-origin Vale Potumuju beans. The bright passion fruit flavor is paired with a delightful crunch created by caramelized demerara sugar mixed with dehydrated passion fruit pulp.

Just two squares a day of our tree-to-bar chocolate is a perfectly calibrated dose of pleasure and happiness!

Ingredients: Cacao beans, sugar cane, cacao butter, and passion fruit. 

Naturally gluten-free; and milk-free, however; it 'sproduced in a facility that handles gluten and lactose.
